Welcome to True Kinship with Animals where we believe we all do better when ALL creatures do better. I’m your host Janet Roper. I identify as she/they and respectfully acknowledge I am on the traditional and ancestral territory of the Salish and upper Kalispel or Pend d’Oreille People, who have stewarded this land throughout the generations.
On this podcast you hear stories, conversations and suggestions on how you can radically reimagine your relationship with animals by freeing yourself from the inherited, colonized beliefs and assumptions we’ve all been socialized into.
This episode is a tad different from other episodes - I’m the one in the guest chair being interviewed by Nik, creator of “the open space” about how embodiment - which is body centered awareness instead of only mind centered awareness - is showing up in my work in true kinship with animals & in my life.
Nik (they/she) is a virgo sun, cancer moon & scorpio rising. After longing for more experiences of genuine connection & authentic exploration with others, Nik created "the open space" - a platform where they share their gifts as an intuitive, embodiment guide, writer & community organizer.

In this episode I’m sharing my story about the 30+ years body of work I created with now deceased animal helpers dog Teddy, horse Shiloh and cat Raven. It was definitely created as a labor of love.
